Getting to know Jade....
Our gal Jade, joined the H&V team in May 2021 and it has been full steam ahead creating some outstanding hair colour transformations. We sat down with her and asked her a few questions….

How did you get into hairdressing?
I wanted to be a hairdresser from a very young age. My Auntie was a salon owner and I would spend a lot of my time in her salon! I started working in a hair salon at 14 years old and as soon as I was able to leave school I started my training with Athena Learning and received my Qualification’s in 2011.
What was it about Honey and Violet that inspired you to work here?
I’ve always wanted to take part in hair and fashion shows across the UK. I entered Wella trend vision awards for the first time in 2020 and made it to the semi finals. Honey & violet is a well-known award-winning salon with a beautiful layout which first attracted me to the salon. Honey & violet specialise in hair and makeup but they also cater for all your beauty needs including nails all under the one roof! And because of all this, I had to became apart of this amazing team!
What’s your top hair care tip you tell your clients?
A trim every 6 to 8 weeks is best to maintain healthy lengths and touching up your colour every 8 weeks it is also important. It is best to use professional hair care at home and of course avoid using home colouring kits. This will only make your next visit to the salon more expensive not only for correcting the colour but for rebuilding the condition of your hair!
What is the most common colouring mistake you come across?
Over complicating your colour choice and technique while transitioning from dark to light. Its all about patience and for best results, while keeping the hair in good condition is to do this gradually!
How often should you really get your hair cut?
I recommend having your hair cut every 6 to 8 weeks to maintain your style and length. However if you are looking to grow your hair, you can wait up to 12 weeks before visiting your hairdresser.

As a hairdresser /colourist, where do you get most of your inspiration from?
I follow many famous hairstylists for creative inspiration but also different businesses! I always try to make sure I’m up to date with the latest trends, cutting and colouring techniques and I get some of my inspiration from the amazing educators from wella!
What is your favourite part about hairdressing?
My favourite part of being a hairdresser is creating huge colour transformations for my clients! Being a hairdresser is an immensely satisfying, emotionally rewarding profession! Its a job like no other and gives you the ability to make people happy and to touch the lives of people in more ways than one!
